Pathways

1. What are pathways? Pathways are curated sets of topics and activities that you will participate in during the afternoon session of the conference. Each pathway will focus on a specific area of wilderness medicine. At morning check-in, you will receive a schedule outlining your assigned small-group sessions and workshops.

2. What are the pathways you are offering this year? The 2026 New England Wilderness Conference will offer four pathways:

  • Outdoor Survival Skills

  • Extreme Environments

  • Sustainability and Climate Health

  • Wilderness Essentials.

3. Who will be in my pathway group? Once pathway groups are assigned, you will remain with the same group of attendees for the remaining duration of the conference.

4. How do I choose my pathway? During online registration, you will be asked to rank the pathways in order of preference before completing checkout. While we cannot guarantee that everyone will receive their first choice, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.
